Comfort of Strangers is the fourth studio album by Beth Orton, released in February 2006 through Astralwerks and EMI. Recorded at Sear Sound Studio in New York City, it captures a leaner, more intimate side of Orton’s writing and performance.

Moving further away from the trip-hop and folktronica textures of her earlier work, Comfort of Strangers leans into raw, minimalist folk-rock arrangements. The result is an organic, emotionally direct record that lets Beth Orton’s songwriting sit right at the centre.
